Everyone has at least one person in their life that is hard to shop for when Christmas or birthday’s come around. I’m sure you know the type. These are the people who when you ask them what they would like, their answer is: “I don’t know” or “I don’t need anything.” My father is just such a person. After years of racking my brain for gift ideas that would be unique and that he would enjoy, I gave up because these types of individuals are generally never happy with the gift you buy them anyway, so why sweat it.
Instead of spending weeks shopping for just the right gift, I now use gift basket services. I just happened to be surfing the Internet one day when I came across one. Upon a little more searching, I found tons more gift basket services. It is amazing the variety of items you can have made into a gift basket. In my father’s case, he likes to drink wine, so every year I buy him a gift basket from Wine.com, which puts together a very classy and elegant gift basket.
Does my father like the gift baskets?
It’s hard to tell, but at least I know he’s drinking the wine. Most gifts I bought him in the past usually sat on a shelf, often unopened. Thus, I consider this a minor success. I was so impressed with how the gift basket worked with my father that I now use many different gift basket services to shop for hard to buy people or coworkers. I use gift basket services that specialize in meats, candies and cheeses to add a variety to what I give people. As I started to give gift baskets (and earn a bit of a reputation for it from friends and family, though it is a good one) I learned that many of the people I give gift baskets to also do the same thing.
In fact, my boss often uses gift basket services twice a month, or more, to welcome new clients. And let’s not forget to mention just how big gift baskets are around Valentines Day every year. It is easy to find a gift basket service that specializes in flowers, love notes and other tokens of romantic affection. I’ve always considered Valentines Day to be a stupid corporate holiday, but my wife loves it. I tell her I don’t need a stupid holiday to show her how much I love her because I love her all year long, but I know that if she doesn’t get flowers come February 14, then I’m in big trouble.
It never ceases to amaze me that we have a backyard full of red roses, yet she gets tickled pink about receiving them along with a gift basket every year. Gift baskets can be a lifesaver for you if you have a loved one who is hard to shop for, or if you forget to buy someone a gift. Gift baskets can be purchased and shipped within hours so that it doesn’t look as if you forgot. You’ll have to search the Internet to find a service you want though. Most gift basket companies specialize only in certain areas; however, you won’t have a problem finding the one you need; gift basket services are everywhere to help make your life easier
